Do you have a concern or perspective on Grace’s hymnal usage that you feel the Hymnal Review Committee should hear? Gathering feedback is a crucial part of the Committee’s charge, which is to carefully and objectively study and compare the Lutheran Book of Worship and Evangelical Lutheran Worship; to educate the congregation; to gather feedback; and to make a recommendation to the Church Council. The Committee has structured these tasks in chronological order, but it also understands that each step builds on the next and enriches prior understanding.
To that end, the Hymnal Review Committee has set up a Listening Session on Saturday, November 19, from 9 to 11. The session begins with Morning Prayer in the Sanctuary, and then moves to Fellowship Hall for coffee and continental breakfast. At 9:30, the session begins. The Committee will be present primarily to listen and to record concerns and statements, questions and perspectives. In the interests of allowing more people to be heard, we ask that statements be limited to five minutes. If you cannot be present, or if you would rather submit something in writing, the Committee is more than happy to read it and to take it into account. Use the online hymnal feedback form or place your comments in the feedback box at the front desk.
Members of the committee include Mark Bouman (Chair), Janel Dennen, Donna Dumpys, Dan Krout, Richard Martens, Monika Nash, and Jeff Wood. Congregation President Greg Rohlfing and Cantor Michael Costello are ex officio member of the committee.
